OK the reason that I hate banners is because a pile of these sites that you go to for "free" e-mail, news, downloads, etc are actually paying for it by providing "click-throughs" to advertisers!

Nothing new there, I know, and there's nothing wrong with a little bit of free enterprise so long as it doesn't screw the little guy.

Like banners do.

How, you ask?

For most of us, WWW stands for World Wide Wait! Most folks are lucky to have a 56k modem, let alone a High Speed connection to the internet. So their precious surfing time is spent waiting for "2.9 % VISA" or some crap along the same lines!

And that brings me to the internet providers, but that's another rant!
