If you support your local thief, what's to stop them from stealing your stuff next? I Was recently reminded of this when some dastardly rascal divested me of one of my most prized posessions.
Now, mind you, I'm not saying that I ever bought stolen merchandise, because I never have, nor would I ever in the future. It seems ironic that it is always the (somewhat, for the most part) law abiding citizens who are the ones that pay for societies ills, but it's been that way since Og stole Ig's club and traded it for some cubensis with Oog.
Hey, wait a minute Skuncle, what do you mean cubensis? Are you saying that all
drug users are thiefs? Not at all. Most drug users are just like you and me. They have jobs and families, and
are otherwise good citizens.
There is, however, no way to get around the fact that most thefts occur
to support an addiction of one sort or another. So it's probably fair to say that
the chances of an addict being the person who ripped me off are pretty
good.
Now this person is lucky in a couple of ways. First, if it had been my horse a hundred years ago, I would have hunted them down and had them hung by the sheriff. Second, The police don't actively look for stolen merchandise, so it gives them time to move the goods away from the heat.
They are unlucky because they picked on Skuncle, and Skuncles are known to make an everlasting stink. I am reminded of the fellow in Edmonton, Alberta who spent all of a summer looking for his stolen motorbike, and eventually found it. I guess the guy who stole it was trying to get away, and had to be "restrained" by the bike's owner until the police arrived.
You can rest assured that I'll find my property, someday. I mean, really, these people are generally stupid, and someday the person is going to be somewhere that I am, with my machine. You can also rest assured that I'll have what's mine.
Oh, did I mention the
